Excavations
on the south side of 'Main Street' revealed House 'N', a Late Minoan
I complex of eighteen rooms (figs. 1, 2), including storerooms with
pithoi (storage jars). These were preserved immediately beneath
the surface, with their rims shorn off by the plough. The house
was destroyed by fire in the 15th century B.C. (LM IB).

Rooms
17 and 18 produced over 400 pots including 66 ogival cups stacked
inside two large jars (fig. 5). Such a large quantity seems excessive
for private use. The potter's wheel found in Room 9 might suggest
that the owner was rather a producer and distributor of pots. The
stacked cups may have been awaiting transportation. |

A
HOUSE SHRINE
Ritual objects found fallen from an upper floor suggest the presence
of a House Shrine. These included an Agrimi rhyton (fig. 7), a marine
style stirrup jar (fig. 8), a double axe stand and miniature horns
of consecration. |
