| From Kato Zakros you can take various trips and enjoy unspoilt and scenic countryside. 700 m. from the apartments you can visit the ruins of the Minoan Palace, one of the four excavated in Crete. The very impressive "Gorge of the dead", it stretches from Zakros to Kato Zakros which is of archaeological, environmental and geophysical interest. Through this it goes through the European path E4. The cave of "Pelekita" with archaeological and geological interest that is connected by path with the settlement of Kato Zakros. Zakros is situated 7.5 km away with its old watermills and watersource of " Mesa Milou" and "Virgin Mary of Viglou", the Minoan mansion near the olive factory and the recent excavations in "Sfaka". 8 km away is Xerokampos with splendid and spotless beaches. |
